Open this page by clicking the Select button beside the Material input on the Duct Data page.
The Material menu is inserted into the main menu while you are on the Duct Material page.
Add Material: Adds a new material to the bottom of the list on this page. To edit the properties of the new material click the Edit button, then edit the inputs, then click the Update button for that row. Duct materials are saved globally for all of your projects.
Reset All Materials: Removes any custom materials you may have added to the list, and returns the list to its original state.
Select Button: Copies the material and the roughness factor into the current duct, and returns you to the Duct Data page.
Edit Button: Only available for any custom materials you may have added, and only available while in edit mode. For standard materials this button is disabled. Makes all the cells in the current row editable, so you can enter the material name, etc..
Update Button: Saves your changes to the editable cells to the right after being in edit mode, and puts the grid back in normal mode.
Delete Button: Only available for any custom materials you may have added. For standard materials this button is disabled. Deletes the selected material after asking you to confirm that you want to do so.
Cancel Button: Cancels any changes you may have made to the material. Only available after clicking the Edit button to put the grid row into edit mode.
The following columns are only editable in rows for custom materials you may have added.
Material Name: Specifies the full name of the material.
ID: Specifies a short abbreviation for the material for use in various places in the program.
Category: Specifies any text you want for the category, in order to help you document the material. This text is not used in any calculations.
Range: Specifies any text you want for the roughness range. This text is not used in any calculations.
Roughness: Specifies the roughness factor for the material, which is used in duct sizing and in determining friction pressure losses.
Flex Duct: Specifies whether the material is a type of flex duct or not, in order to help you document the material. Enter "True" or "False" here. This option is not used in any calculations.
Read Only: Shows whether or not the material is standard or custom. Standard materials are read-only, while custom ones are not. This cell is not editable.
